Hello family! With spring in all its splendor and a month of April that we like more than any other, we present Yasmina, she is Leo's mother and defines herself as a brave, strong and stubborn woman 😉 passionate about fashion and shoes.
After meeting her first nephew, Yasmina decided to create her own children's shoe company named after MINI SHUU @minishuu. We leave you in her company, you will see that it will be an absolute pleasure to read it since with each word she manages to convey a charming freshness. Here we go!
Yasmina: It's been quite a challenge. The truth is that being a mother has changed many things in me, I am much more patient (something that is hard for me to believe since I have always been quite impatient with everything) and although there are days of maximum chaos and of not being able to take it anymore, I have learned to organize myself better, to prioritize and to be for what I am at all times.
Motherhood is a gift and in these first years, which need you so much, I think they have to be used and enjoyed to the fullest, there will be time to dedicate more time to myself or my partner, now it's our turn be 100% by and for him. And MINI SHUU is giving me the opportunity to see him grow every day.
And: I am a creative person, who likes everything that is made with my hands, if it were up to me I would learn to paint with watercolor, crochet, embroider, learn lettering , photography... and since I'm a mom I don't have time to learn anything else other than things for Mini Shuu but motherhood makes creativity spring from me more every day.
Y: Well, it's difficult to organize yourself and be 100% in both things, but I've learned to prioritize and take advantage of every moment. In the mornings I work very early, together with my mother and my sister in the workshop, which I have at home, and Leo is with us there. I prepare activities and games for him to do. And in the afternoons I am 100% for him, until daddy arrives and we take over. Sometimes I work nights. There are days that don't go as planned, but those days I take a deep breath and prioritize, he needs me, because I'll work more that night or the next day I'll get up earlier. It's hard because you don't rest as you should, but as Alicia from House of Frida says, there will be time to sleep hehehe.
What I have learned with maternity in the professional field is to delegate more, before it was very difficult for me and being born Leo and having less time to dedicate myself to Mini Shuu, no matter how much it has cost me, I have known to do it to divide and organize the work in such a way that we are all well.
And: MINI SHUU was born thanks to my first nephew 4 and a half years ago now. My initial idea was to create a women's footwear brand, but this project required a very large investment because the footwear could not be produced by me. Then, my nephew was born and as a fashion lover I began to investigate children's fashion brands and I could see that there was no brand that offered modern footwear and that it was of quality and economically accessible. Everything I saw was either very classic or very sporty.
And from there MINI SHUU was born, a brand of 100% natural leather footwear, with current and timeless designs, basic colors, all of them with a wide and simple pattern that respects the healthy and natural development of the little feet, which are easy to put on with an elastic band around the ankle like a sock and most importantly, made here in Spain.
And:As a mom, give Leo a little brother, become his example and teach him to be strong, brave and fight for his dreams. As a professional, I have several projects, but the one I'm looking forward to the most, and the one I hope to achieve soon, is to create a new line of MINI SHUU for mommies and daddies. And being able to go together with our little ones!
And: I would tell him to be patient, that at first it is very hard because all that time you dedicated to your brand, which for you is like "your first child" you will no longer have, but it will be because you will have someone much more important who will need you. But that those months will pass and little by little you will adapt and organize, that everything is possible and that, even if there are bad days, being an entrepreneurial mom is the best, at least for me, and do you know why? Because you are the Boss of your company and of your LIFE, and being able to be the sole owner of your time is the best thing you can give your baby.
L&L: What is your greatest wish for Mother's Day?
And: Waking up and having breakfast in bed with my family, without rushing, enjoying that little moment.
L&L: We are done with the questions, now tell us who you would invite to be the protagonist of the next publication of “What is behind the insta of @……….”
And: I invite @lelelerele
We have reached the end. We are fascinated by Yasmina and the enthusiasm she conveys about motherhood and her work. It is clear that creativity is something natural to her and by the way, it seems that working with her hands runs in her family because she is the daughter of a painter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter of a dressmaker. We invite you to visit her website to discover her creations https://minishuu.com/es/ Soon we will announce a collaboration between Minu Shuu and Lua&Lee, stay tuned 😉
