Who is behind Noelia...

June 19, 2018

Hello family! Today we will discover Noelia together, the mother who created the lyrics with the story of @anthologiedepapier Let's see if it happens to you like us, that while we get to know her we want to run away and set up a small office with her in Provence. A few years ago he broke free from routine and set out to follow his dreams and start a family. In 2013 Bichita came into her life and practically simultaneously gave birth to Anthologie de Papier, her project inspired by creating timeless products with simplicity, elegance, unique and unrepeatable handmade in the workshop that, lucky Noelia, is at home! ! Let's meet her family…

Who is behind Noelia...
Lua&Lee: Has your perception of motherhood changed since you became a mom?

Noelia: On the one hand yes, I confess that I imagined it much worse… I don't know if the end of the universe awaited me or that Emma has been a wonderful girl since she was born. Of course, we adapted rhythms and schedules, but at six months she was very adapted to ours. We would go out to the field to climb, at night to have a drink with friends or we would go wild camping and she was always delighted.

L&L: How have you been balancing your role as a mother with your personal and professional life?

N: When the little one was born we lived in the south of France and I had left my professional career behind to follow the adventures.

L&L: What does working from home mean to you? How is the balance between Noelia worker and Noelia mom?

N:Working at home gives me some freedom to combine the little one's schedules, her extracurricular activities or the days when there is no school with Anthologie de Papier. When the little one goes to bed I usually go down to work for a while... the house is quiet and that's when it spreads the most. Although both are full-time jobs!

I perform much better in the afternoon, but it's the mornings that I have free, so I am firm with my planning regarding the company; If not, I get lost with anything and end up on pinterest or reading some book that I left on the sofa.

First I answer the emails, queries and prepare the orders for the day before... While the sheets dry, I go down to the village bakery; then I lovingly wrap each sheet and tell Javi, my delivery man, that he is a sun.

The balance between Noe worker and Noe mom is fuzzy… I love my job and Bichita loves coming to the workshop to play with papers, so when I have a lot of work accumulated we come after the park and while she draw I advance a little.

L&L: Is the Anthologie de Papier project before or after your motherhood? How much has becoming a mother influenced, transformed or inspired your project?

N:At that time I was pregnant in France and the mountaineer spent the year researching between Laos and Nicaragua, so we were tight on money. Some friends invited us to dinner to celebrate the good news and to thank them I designed some decorative sheets with their initials... That's how my "letters with history" began. My project was formed while Bichita grew in my belly. Our little adventurer has been influencing every step we've taken and every sheet she designed.

L&L: Tell us what your future projects are, how you project yourself a few years from now.

N: Ugh! Difficult to answer this! The mountaineer is a researcher in biology and after ten years of stumbling, I think we still have a few left… We move every time a scholarship ends and we never know where the next one will be offered, what our next country is, much less where we will end up settling .

So it is very difficult to plan in the medium or long term.

But I can tell you where I would like to be… With a studio + shop near where we live, a space where I can exhibit my work and have a closer relationship; make personalized designs together with the families, organize the occasional snack and where the little one can come with her friends to draw or hang out.

I don't know if I ask a little or a lot, but I imagine it when I close my eyes every night.

L&L: What is it for you to be an entrepreneur? How does becoming a mother and having a family impact the above?

N: Entrepreneurship (in Spain) is almost like being a mother! It involves jumping into the void without looking down, without thinking about it too much and knowing that no matter how hard it costs and how many hours of sleep you lose along the way, it will be worth it.

In my case, I cannot say how it impacts becoming a mother and becoming an entrepreneur, because I started both at the same time. Now I don't understand one without the other.

But one of the things I have learned is not to waste a minute, to never get bored, to be in a constant state of alert, learning, training and enjoying the journey. Both with Emma and with Anthologie.

L&L: What advice would you give to an enterprising woman who wants to be a mother?

N: To train, to be surrounded by a good team, by true friends (those who tell you the truth and with whom you laugh like when you were in high school) and that when you have all this… Don't wait for everything to be perfect and planned, take the first step and start.

L&L: Noelia, how nice to meet you. This is as far as we go with the questions today, but before we say goodbye we would like you to tell us who you would like to be the next mommy of “Who is behind the insta of….”

N: I nominate Mar from @yvolar Hehehe

Fasten your seatbelts, family, as we begin the trip to Mar to see what he tells us.

Every day we get more excited with the explosion of desire, confidence and creativity that motherhood cultivates in all the mommies we have interviewed so far. We 100% agree with what Noelia says about always being on the move, learning, discovering and enjoying the journey.

Family see you soon! We hope that Noelia's story has inspired you as much as it has us. Go to her Instagram right now, she's a divinity 😉

Arrivederciiii
